Haikou Xiuying Forts (Xiuying Paotai) [Haikou]

The government constructed the forts on the small hill 200 meters from the seashore to resist the France Army’s aggression in 1890, occupying a commanding position and controlling the entire Qiongzhou channel . It has five big and small forts. It faces north in straight line from the east to the west, the direction room is located in the south, with the drill field and the barracks behind. Altogether, they occupied 33,000 square meters.

It lies on Haixiu road in Xiuying village of Haikou city.
